Due to some reasons, I have to temporarily disable this design.

This is the first major redesign for this blog after I had moved to this domain in Feb, 2009. It took me around forty hours of work to finish this new design. In the last few weeks, I was getting kind of bored with the old theme but never got enough inspiration to create a new design.

If you are visiting my blog for the first time, I am including a screen-shot of the previous design here. For reference, I am also including the screen-shot of this new design.

There are no major changes in the page-layout. Primarily, I have tweaked the old theme’s CSS to get this new design working. Most of the changes are to do more with background images than anything else.

I want to thank few of my friends here for seeing the initial design and for their suggestions and encouraging words. Nandu, Chaithu, Bharath, Bala, Praveen, Gowri, Varma, Deepak, and  Navya. Specially, Nandu: thanks for all the inputs and for pointing out few bugs.

One of the frustrating experiences in web designing is removing bugs in Internet Explorer. As of this writing, I haven’t tested this design thoroughly in Internet Explorer. It should work really well with IE7 and above. IE6 users might see little inconsistencies here and there. But no major glitches. Please let me know if you find any problems.

For me, this is one of the best designs I have implemented till now. This redesign is inspired by someone whose name I do not want to mention here. I am dedicating this new design to that person. Guys, please don’t ask me who is that

Unfortunately my first website – which was my personal blog – was attacked by spammers and they inserted some hidden content. Google obviously did not like that bad content and penalized my blog. I realized this almost eight months after the initial attack. Google almost stopped showing my old website in search results. Daily visits dropped considerably and rarely reached a double digit. I tried to re-include the website with Google. But that dint happen even after waiting for two months. To be short this is the story of moving to this new domain.

I thought it is not wise to stay with that blog and write there when no one was reading except for few of my friends and feed readers. So, here I am with this brand new website on my name and new design completely implemented by me.

I hope I will blog more regularly and provide some interesting stuff for you to read.

I have tested this design in IE and FireFox on a Windows machine. If you find any quirks in the layout/design, please drop me a line. I would love to fix them.

As of this writing, there are few things pending on the design and content wise, but I wanted to launch the website and make the updates progressively. Especially I have some work to do in the header area. That should really lift up the design once finished.

The look and feel of the site is designed and developed by me. I used XHTML, CSS and followed web standards and some accessibility guidelines while developing this theme. By the way, this is my first ever major web design work using web standards. So, I would like to hear from you about my work, and suggestions to improve this site. This website now has two themes, one is the default normal theme and the second is a high contrast theme for low vision people and people with difficulties in recognizing few colors. The high contrast layout will have dark background and light colored text. I am planning to provide few other themes when I find time to develop them.
